Cologne, 20 February 2023 – Astara, a leading global mobility company, has announced an important evolution of its former importer business in Germany to enable a more personalized, open, and emotionally intelligent mobility and broaden its offering in the country. As of February 1, 2023, the German operations of Astara began to officially operate as Astara Mobility Deutschland GmbH and have become part of the Astara Western Europe region. With this announcement, Astara will distribute four brands, including the Korean brand SsangYong, the Chinese commercial vehicle brand MAXUS, the recently announced (link) Swiss-based Microlino, and the Japanese brand Isuzu, which, in the form of a new joint venture, will also be distributed by Astara Western Europe. The new structure started on February 1, 2023 at the two locations in Cologne and Flörsheim am Main.

Germany is the sixth market that Isuzu is entering with Astara, already strongly represented in Belgium, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Poland and Portugal. The result is a new and extended scope for the Isuzu brand with Astara, not only reaching the German market, but also Austria, Czech Republic, and Slovakia.
