Olivier Sermeus appointed Managing Director Astara Western Europe
Astara global headquarters announces the appointment of Olivier Sermeus as Managing Director of Astara Western Europe hub, with immediate effect.
Following the announcement of Astara’s intention to consolidate its investment in the region, through the acquisition of all the outstanding Astara Western Europe’s shares, Damien Heymans, current company’s CEO, will hand over the operational mandate to Astara.
Global Astara CEO and President of Astara Western Europe Board Jorge Navea, commented:

Towards a mobility solutions company
Olivier Sermeus is not new to the company. He started working for the group in June 2009 and has held several positions and responsibilities. Since 2020, he was already at the operational steering wheel of the company and as Chief Operating Officer, his more recent role, he has been successful at driving significant changes. Today, he starts his new challenge as Managing Director of Astara’s Western Europe hub, with one clear objective; to manage the disruption in the automotive industry and exploit mobility services and new business opportunities.

Olivier Sermeus will report to Rafael Sainz, Chief of Astara Distribution Europe. He will not be replaced in his current function as COO. Olivier will be part of Astara’s Global Committee.
